Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Saturday, August 15, and commemorates the death and assumption of Mary, body and soul, into heaven. Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 AM in St. Mary's Chapel. When the Solemnity falls on a Saturday or a Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is lifted.
