National Eucharistic Pilgrimage Comes to Atlanta

The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is embarking on a two-month journey tracing the sign of the cross over the nation on its way toward the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, IN, on July 16, 2024. Teams of young adult volunteers are leading these pilgrimages. These young people, from all walks of life are giving up their summer for the trip.

The southern arm of the Pilgrimage, called the St. Juan Diego Route, will pass through the southeastern region of the United States stopping by the Archdiocese of Atlanta from June 21-23. On Sunday, June 23, from 12:00 PM - 2:15 PM, the Cathedral of Christ the King will host a Mass and Eucharistic Procession. Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv. will be the celebrant. The pilgrims on this route departed from the tip of Texas in Brownsville and wound around the Gulf of Mexico—an area chosen for its deep Catholic roots—before coming to Georgia.
