The goal of this discussion group is to engage the intellect and imagination through shared inquiry about provocative literature. The majority of the readings come from the Great Books Foundation in Chicago. As a periodic supplement, two to three readings are chosen from group member suggestions. For the 2019-20 year, these include Dante’s Purgatory and Muriel Spark’s A Far Cry from Kensington. Challenge and broaden your thinking as the group probes deeply into characters and ideas. Works from both Catholic and secular writers are reviewed. Members are required to read the selections prior to the meetings and come prepared to answer interpretive questions.
