Sunday Morning Adult Faith Formation

Welcome to Holy Spirit Adult Faith Formation. We are striving to provide a program that addresses the pressing issues that Catholics are facing in today’s culture. Although the teachings have not changed for 2000 years, different situations and issues need to constantly be addressed. If you have any questions or want more information, please reach out to our Adult Faith Formation Coordinator, Grant Aasen, at GAasen@hsccatl.com.

Frederick Douglass (1818-1895) was born into slavery in rural Maryland. After escaping slavery at age seventeen, he became a national leader of the abolitionist movement. He also played a role at the women’s rights convention in 1848. In his autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, Douglass considers the
process of thinking of oneself as human. Learning to read and write he considered essential to this process.

An exploration of God’s Promises through Sacred Scripture

Saturday October 21st
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

We are beautiful, thoughtful, nourishing women who care deeply for others and the world in which we live. Handling our daily lives has become more difficult each day, as we deal with a secular world that adds to our stress level. What happens when we become overwhelmed with fear?

  • What does God say about my fears in His holy word?
  • Is there anything in the bible that can help me to overcome or handle fears more effectively?
  • How many other women have experienced my fears and how did they overcome them?
  • How can I control these emotions and feelings or handle them better?

You may be saying to yourself, I need to hear from God, but I don’t know where to find answers that I need NOW! But what can I do? Anxiety, Worry, Fear are all experiences that we are familiar with, now more than ever.

But God is still here and His answers to life’s challenges are in our Sacred Scriptures. Fear Not is a retreat for women, designed to focus on God’s word through his promises in scripture. The retreat begins with Mass and moves through Anxiety, Worry, Fear and answers from the Holy Spirit through a collection of brief witnesses, activities, and spiritual exercises. Join us for a life changing experience through and with women of faith from your own community. Lunch will be provided please sign up online. There is no charge for the retreat. Questions? E-mail WWPHolySpirit@gmail.com.
