Back to School Clothing Drive

Elizabeth Richter is a 12th grade parishioner working on her Girl Scout Gold Award. For her project, Elizabeth is addressing the issue of improper clothing limiting students’ success in school. Not having appropriate school clothing can result in physical problems like a decrease in physical activity, as well as social and educational problems like skipping school, decrease in learning, and possibly dropping out of school entirely. She received a lot of support for her winter clothing drive in December 2021, which was a great success and provided over 500 clothing items for local families. In preparation for the upcoming school year, Elizabeth’s Gold Award project will support families with back to school clothes. From June 20th - July 20th, Elizabeth will be collecting back to school clothing in the Narthex. School uniforms such as solid navy or white polo shirts as well as khaki shorts, pants, and skirts are especially needed. Your support of new and gently worn items in sizes 5 through adult is greatly appreciated!
