Timothy Schmalz’s “Angels Unawares” sculpture is scheduled to depart Atlanta on Thursday, February 4th. Miniature replicas of the sculpture are available for sale online, and pick up is in the parish office only (no shipping is available). The replicas are $89.99 and measure 5.5”h x 6.5”w x 5”d. All proceeds benefit the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums Georgia Chapter, the non-profit organization which supports restoration efforts for the Vatican Museums and brought the sculpture to Atlanta. The inspiration of the work arises from Hebrews 13:2: “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares”. This solid resin-stone cast is coated in a realistic bronze finish and is mounted on a solid matt black base. Timothy Schmalz personally sculpts every original small masterpiece complete with his signature or monogram. Each replica is detailed by hand to the exacting standards of this modern day master sculptor.
