Advent Meditation for the Fourth Week of Advent
12/22/2008
In this last week of Advent, God reminds you of his fulfilled promises and asks you to keep faith for his promises yet to come. Today's reading bring us examples that have changed the world – King David, Elizabeth and her son John the Baptist, the Annunciation and revelation of Jesus the Christ. How lucky we are to have these readings to remind us of a loving God and his very intimate relationship with His people – his intimate relationship with you!
Advent brings us back into these revelations of promises fulfilled to warm our hearts, strengthen our faith and renew our hope. And while we twenty-first century Christians are so often caught up in our day-to-day reality, and the very real and often-troubling history unfolding around us, we can forget that God has played an active role in human history through the fulfillment of His promises. In this final week of Advent, allow that staggering revelation to catch up to you!
