Music is an extremely important part of the liturgy at Holy Spirit, and as such, we have four different choirs from which parishioners may choose to participate.
Holy Spirit’s Traditional Choir enhances the worship experience at the 10:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday and at other liturgies throughout the year. Drawing from a repertoire that ranges
from Gregorian Chant through Baroque and Romantic to modern, the choir’s mission is to enhance the liturgy consistent with the Church’s liturgical principles and guideline. The
repertoire includes music by Mozart, Haydn, Bruckner, among others.
New members are always welcome. While musical training and experience are helpful, the desire to sing is paramount. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. with a short
warm-up period on Sunday mornings. Contact
Holy Spirit's director of music and organist for more information.
The Contemporary Choir sings at the 5:30 p.m. Sunday Mass. The liturgy and music for the Mass are geared toward the teens and young adults. Performing contemporary praise music
with piano, guitar, and other instruments, the choir rehearses at 4:00 p.m. every Sunday in the Church. The Contemporary Choir welcomes new members, especially teens and young
adults. Whether a singer or instrumentalist, there’s a place for you. To learn more about singing with the Contemporary Choir, please contact
School age children between the ages of 7 and 15 who love to sing are welcome to join the Holy Spirit Children's Choir. The Children's Choir performs at the children's Liturgy
at 8:30 a.m. on the 3rd Sunday of the month from September through May. Through their involvement with the choir, children are introduced to traditional Catholic music, and are
taught the basics of choral singing, but most important of all...it is FUN! It is also a wonderful opportunity for children to make friends within their parish beyond the limits
of their own school and grade level. Children who are altar servers should still consider joining. Conflicts are rare and can be resolved. Singing in a church choir is also a
great supplement for students who participate in band or orchestra at school. Several members also play instruments and take lessons outside of the choir. Children don't have
to have experience but several members also play instruments and take lessons outside of the choir. It's a unique opportunity to learn songs written by contemporary composers
and to be exposed to songs in Latin. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday from 4:45 - 6:45 p.m. Please contact
for additional information: 678-923-6521.
The Holy Spirit Bell Choir plays for the Easter and Christmas Liturgies. The Bell Choir offers adults the opportunity to learn the techniques of playing handbells in a group setting
and add to the majesty and grandeur of two of our most important liturgical days. It is the perfect musical and social outlet for adults who have previously participated in school
ensembles such as band or orchestra, or have taken piano lessons. Prior handbell experience is not necessary, but members must know how to read music. They rehearse on Thursday
evenings at 7:00 p.m. for the three months leading up to Christmas and Easter. For more information, please contact
